Refund Policy
We want you to be satisfied with myLegal. This policy explains when and how we issue refunds. It applies in addition to — not in place of — any non-waivable rights you have under consumer protection law in your state or country.
1. Premium Monthly Subscription
If you subscribe to a monthly Premium plan and decide it's not a fit, you may request a full refund within 14 days of your initial purchase, provided your account shows no significant use of the service. "Significant use" means you have submitted fewer than 20 AI queries and have not downloaded any generated documents. After 14 days, or after significant use, monthly subscriptions are non-refundable, but you can cancel at any time to stop future renewals.
2. Premium Annual Subscription
If you subscribe to an annual Premium plan, you may request a pro-rata refund within 30 days of your initial purchase or your most recent renewal. The refund will be for the unused portion of the term, minus any months already elapsed at the standard monthly rate. After 30 days, annual subscriptions are non-refundable, but you can cancel at any time to stop future renewals.
3. Attorney Lead Purchases
Purchased attorney leads are non-refundable once the lead has been delivered, because the work and third-party cost of generating and validating the lead has already been performed.
Exception — clearly unqualified lead. If a delivered lead is clearly unqualified (for example: wrong practice area, wrong state, disconnected or invalid contact information, or the prospect did not actually request legal help), contact us through the in-app chat within 7 days of delivery. We review these requests on a case-by-case basis and, when the facts support it, will issue a refund or a replacement lead at our discretion.
4. How Refunds Are Processed
- Approved refunds are issued via Stripe to the original payment method used for the purchase.
- Funds typically appear within 5–10 business days, depending on your bank or card issuer.
- We do not issue refunds by cash, check, wire, or to a different payment method than the original.
- If the original payment method is closed or expired, we will work with Stripe to determine the next available option.
5. Not Refundable
- Any period after the applicable refund window (14 days monthly / 30 days annual / 7 days for unqualified leads)
- Accounts terminated for violation of our Acceptable Use Policy
- Chargebacks initiated without first contacting us — we may contest those and pause the account pending resolution
6. How to Request a Refund
Request a refund through the in-app chat from any authenticated page. Please include your account email, the charge in question, and a brief description of the reason. We respond within 3 business days.
7. Changes
We may update this Refund Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by an updated effective date at the top of this page. Purchases made before a change are governed by the policy in effect at the time of purchase.
